A Letter to Municipal Officials: Revisions to the Energy Code Resulting from HB1472 (2018)
If the municipality is included on the dropdown list below, please continue to submit the EC-1 form to the PUC for approval. For all municipalities which are not on this list, please contact your local building or code enforcement official and do not submit an EC-1 form to the PUC.
EC-1 Forms should be submitted via email to EnergyCodes@energy.nh.gov or faxed to (603) 271-3878.
Residential Energy Code Certification Applications
New Hampshire has adopted the IRC 2015 Residential Energy Code and the IECC 2015 Commercial Energy Code. Each of these codes has been amended by the State Building Code Review Board. The amended codes became effective September 15, 2019. Code amendments can be viewed at the New Hampshire Building Code Review Board website (https://www.nh.gov/safety/boardsandcommissions/bldgcode/) Codebooks may be purchased from the International Code Council: https://codes.iccsafe.org Energy Code training workshops are periodically scheduled in New Hampshire.
