Water Company; James L. Lenihan for the Staff of the Public
Utilities Commission.
On December 18, 1997, Indian Mound Water Company
(Indian Mound) filed with the New Hampshire Public Utilities
Commission (Commission) a proposed tariff seeking an increase in
annual revenue of approximately $15,294, which represents an
increase of 143% over current rates.
On January 19, 1998, the Commission issued Order No.
22,837 which suspended the proposed tariff, scheduled a
prehearing conference for February 17, 1998, and established
deadlines for intervention and for objections thereto.
At the prehearing conference, Indian Mound and Staff
were given the opportunity to make preliminary statements of
position. Staff indicated that a thorough investigation was
necessary prior to the Commission rendering a decision on the
proposed rate increase and that Staff would investigate issues
regarding plant additions, operation and maintenance costs, rate
of return, metering and management contracts.
At the prehearing conference, moreover, Indian Mound
and Staff agreed to the following procedural schedule:
First Set of Data Requests March 3, 1998
